Farrokh Nadimi is an Iranian-born artist based in the UK, working primarily in oil painting, alongside watercolour and drawing.
Drawing and making have been a constant throughout his life. Born in Iran, Farrokh moved to the UK in 1972 to study, later training in industrial and product design. Alongside his professional life, he continued to paint, draw and make, developing a lifelong commitment to art.
His paintings are rooted in observation, with a particular interest in landscape, portraiture and everyday moments. Working predominantly in oils, he is drawn to atmosphere, light and detail, whether capturing the stillness of water and changing skies or the character and presence of a figure.
His approach is patient and meticulous, often returning to a painting over many weeks or months until it feels resolved. He has a particular admiration for traditional painting and draughtsmanship, with artists such as J.M.W. Turner among his longstanding influences.
Alongside painting, Farrokh is an accomplished draughtsman and watercolourist. His broader creative life has also included sculpture and design, reflecting a lifelong curiosity for making and developing ideas across different forms.
